Tui Na Acupressure Massage
Acupressure Massage, or Tui Na, is an integral part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and is taught in TCM schools as part of formal training in Oriental medicine. It is a traditional Chinese massage therapy that has been used in China for over 2000 years and is based on traditional Chinese medical theory.
The Flow of Qi
The body has lines or meridians extending vertically and peripherally with certain points that can be stimulated to affect other points along those meridians. When the flow of Qi through the meridians and body is regulated, a harmonious flow of energy through the body results throughout the body, allowing the body to naturally heal itself.
Tui Na is simply acupuncture without needles.
Using, the hands, fingers, knuckles, sometimes elbows, or other simple devices, acupressure is applied. Acupressure is a way to administer treatment without needles. For some, this relieves their fear of needles, and for the practioner, no special equipment or tools are needed.
